Bur oak (Quercus macrocarpa)
Bur oak is a slow growing tree and is one of the most drought-resistant of the oaks. It does well on exposed sandy sites and reaches 100 feet in height and 3-4 feet in diameter.
Bur oak grows best on rich, moist, well drained upland soils.
The tree produces good crops of acorns for wildlife, wood valuable for furniture and flooring.
It seldom lives more than 200 years.
Price listed is for 100 seedlings.
